Hawaii By Joslyn from Gail, Texas Professor Jeffrey Bingham Mead and the SP151 Personal and Public Speech Winter 2010 students went to Chinese New Year celebrations in Honolulu's Chinatown on February 6, 2010: Gong Hee Fat Choy, everyone The Year of the Tiger was recently celebrated in Honolulus Chinatown.[1] This is one of my favorite places to visit in all of Hawaii.[2] The date of the lunar new year arrives sometime between January 20 and February 20 during the period of the first moon.[3] This year it falls on February 14.[4] Festivals and celebrations are a primary way of understanding and appreciating cultures across the world.[5] During this season where warm smiles prevail Chinese culture, history, food and art take center stage.[6] The tiger is brave, courageous and ready for any challenge.[7] They pursue their dreams with fierce ...
